FDIC bank financial-condition data

Data vintage:

This catalog provides a stable download of 4,313 active FDIC-insured bank records. It combines reported FDIC Call Report fields with PlainBankData reference calculations so researchers can reproduce a figure, inspect its units and trace it back to the underlying source. It is not a bank-rating service, deposit recommendation or prediction of failure.

What the file contains

  • Identity and geography: FDIC certificate, institution name, city, state, charter type and stable PlainBankData slug.
  • Reported financial fields: total assets, deposits, Tier 1 capital ratio, return on assets, Texas Ratio and efficiency ratio.
  • Reference fields: PlainBankData health score and grade. These are transparent calculations for comparison, not FDIC ratings or statements about an institution’s safety.

For formula definitions and caveats, see the methodology. National aggregates and a readable table are available in FDIC bank statistics.
